Update on Carriganore

With the opening of the new city by pass and the final section of the outer ring road, WIT will have its new entrance into Carriganore. This will be the first step in a plan that will see a new roadway through the site bringing you to the entrance into the Sports Centre or down through the site to the TSSG building close to the river. It is hoped that this will be completed sometime in the New Year and will open up Carriganore to most of the people of Waterford and the South East as a visible part of WIT for the first time.

This will put a big focus on the Sports Centre and its progress; at present the dressing rooms are under construction and are well under way. The sand based grass pitches are looking very well, the fencing is in place on the synthetic pitch and with all but the final layer of stone to go before the carpet is laid; it is all now taking shape. We are very hopeful that we will get a few games played out there in the second half of this academic year.
