Card Applications
The WITCard is multifunctional and is used for various applications e.g. borrowing books from the library, identification, printing, photocopying, point of sale, vending and access control. There is no need to carry cash as your card allows you to purchase items in the shops, bar, restaurants, bookshop and secretarial services etc.
Your educational fees can also be paid for using your WITCard. In short, the WITCard is your key to the many services and facilities at the institute.
Vending
To make a purchase at a vending machine tap your WITCard onto the electronic card reader on the machine and make your selection.

Access Control
The WITCard is your key to many doors within the Institute – classrooms, laboratories, library facilities etc. It is also used in the accommodation complexes, Manor Village & College Fields. Access to your apartment and room will be issued on your WITCard.

Identification
The WITCard is the official identification for WIT. It may be used for events and facilities outside of the college as well as gaining student discount when you show it at venues e.g. Cinema
Electronic Purse
The card can be used at any point of sale, located in the restaurants, Dome bar, campus shops, book shop, secretarial services, library, fitness suite, clubs and societies and WITCard Office.
Library Facilities
The WITCard allows you to borrow books/journals etc. In the event that you incur a charge for late return of books etc., the electronic purse can be used to make the appropriate payment.
Web Card management
This is an online tool similar in principle to Online Banking. With this application you’re in control, whether it’s at home, in the library, or on the road, web card management lets you view your account activity, transfer funds to your WITCard, and check your balance, whenever it’s convenient for you.
